The Familiar Souls are a group of Central Oregon musicians that have come from all walks of life and musical backgrounds. We like to play music people can dance to including Funk, Reggae, Rock, Bluegrass, Southern/Swamp Rock, Jam, Latin, and our very own Jamadelic Dance Grass.

 

Along with some original songs that are loved by our fans, Familiar Souls also performs cover tunes ranging from the Grateful Dead to The Sweet Vandals, John Butler Trio, Ween and Slightly Stoopid just to name a few.

 

Guitarist Brian Hickey brings awesome riffs and a very Jerryesque feel to the band as well as some funky rhythm. He has been playing in bands for 20 years. Brian brings his amazing chops to the bass guitar as well, providing a solid back beat to the Familiar groove.

 

Don MacEwan brings awesome vocals, amazing songwriting talent, and a nice Allman/country guitar sound to the band. More recently, Don can be seen laying down sweet grooves on the bass. We are stoked to benefit from his extreme musical knowledge and rock solid songwriting!

 

Colleen Olsen is on keys and vocals and has been well known in the music circles of central Oregon for quite sometime now. Sweet, warm and powerful, Colleen's lead and harmony vocal strength touches the soul. Whether it's booty-shaking grooves or a slower, touching song - prepare to be moved by her emotive, enticing vocals.

 

Linken Olsen was previously playing "knobs and faders" only, but has found himself behind the drum kit!
